To repair a gas stove is to spend money in vain. As long as you apply for repair, the workers will more or less give you some replacement accessories and charge a sum of money. But in fact, 80% of gas stove failures are not a big problem, and they can be solved by yourself after understanding the cause.
Today, we will take stock of the three types of faults that are more common.
——Check that the electric and gas stoves are not on fire, and first observe the electric sparks on the stove
As shown in the picture above, you can see the electric spark, which proves that the ignition function is fine. At this time, the first thing to suspect is natural gas:
Check the natural gas to see if the valves are all open, if the gas meter has electricity, and if the gas bill is in arrears. If it's all right, you can ask your neighbors or gas company to see if the gas is temporarily off.
Special reminder for this gas valve below▽
This kind of valve is closed when pressed, and opened when lifted. It may be installed in a low position and can be easily touched by mistake. Some users just accidentally close this valve, which causes the gas stove to not catch fire.
Continuing to say that it can't ignite, if there is no electric spark on the stove, there is a chance that the battery is dead.
Nowadays, many gas stoves are embedded in the countertop, so we need to lift the gas stove or drill into the cabinet under the gas stove. Looking at the back of the gas stove, you can find the battery compartment (some have one battery compartment and some have two)▽
Pick off the battery and replace it with a new one. This type of battery is called "No. 1 battery", and it was used in radios and flashlights in the past. Now it seems that only gas stoves are in use, and they are usually available in supermarkets.
Special reminder, some batteries have a small plastic cap on the top (positive pole), remove it and put it on to use normally. ▽
--- Check the two needles on the stove head of the gas stove, you can see the two needles▽
Under normal circumstances, flames can appear 1~3 seconds after pressing and rotating the knob. If your gas stove needs to be pressed for more than 3 seconds to ignite, it means that the ignition speed is slow. At this time, you have to look at the ignition needle -
The top is flat (occasionally pointed), the bottom is white, and the electric spark between the ignition and the fire cover is the ignition needle.
The ignition speed is slow, most likely because the top of the ignition needle is dirty, resulting in insufficient ignition and insufficient temperature. Find a rag and wipe it, or rub it lightly with sandpaper will solve the problem.
There is an extreme case, that is, no matter how you change the battery, you will not be able to produce electric sparks. It is possible that the ignition needle is crooked, and a slight break of the ignition needle with your hand to keep it vertical will solve the problem.
Under normal circumstances, you can release your hand 3~5 seconds after the flame appears. If your gas stove needs to be pressed for a long time to let go, nine times out of ten it is a problem with the flame-out protection needle -
The top is pointed, and the bottom is yellow, which is the flame-out protection needle.
Its function is to judge whether the gas stove is turned off by the temperature, and if the fire is turned off (the temperature is insufficient), the natural gas will be automatically cut off. Therefore, you need to press for 3~5 seconds after ignition to let it heat up slowly.
If the pressing time is long and the heating speed is slow, it is likely that the surface of the flame-out protection needle is dirty. In the same way as an ignition needle, cleaning it up will solve the problem.
There is also an extreme case, which is "let go and die". No matter how long you press it, it can't burn normally, which is generally because the flame-out protection needle is crooked and can't heat up. Break it right and you will solve the problem.
——Check that the combustion of the inlet and outlet flames is not good, the fire power is not strong enough, and it is easy to blacken the bottom of the pot, that is, there is a problem with combustion. At this time, it depends on whether the overall flame is not good, or the local flame is not good.
If the whole is not good, you need to adjust the damper▽
If you look at the back of the gas stove in the cupboard, you can find two corresponding paddles under each stove.
These two picks correspond to the inner and outer flames of the stove head, respectively, at which point the ignition is required, and then the adjustment of the picks begins. Turn on the fire until the outer ring has just been extinguished, adjust the paddles (try to see which paddle corresponds to the inner ring fire), until the inner ring flame turns completely blue.
Turn the fire on to the maximum, adjust the fire picks in the outer ring, and adjust the flame in the outer ring to turn completely blue.
Some gas stoves are too old and of poor quality to turn blue completely no matter how you adjust them, so turn them to as blue as possible. If it's a local flame that's problematic, like this ▽
At this time, it is necessary to check the fire lid: pick it up, it may be a small hole or a stripe. Whatever it is, it's a gas outlet for natural gas, and cleaning it up will solve the problem.
